In the Neighborhood - June 2007
writes, "C&C Coins and Collectibles

People do not realize that Colorado is famous for the rare coins the Denver Mint, which opened in 1906, have produced.

The 1914-D penny (which 10 were spent in the fall of 2006 by C&C Coins to celebrate ten years in business and promote the downtown merchants) is worth over $100 each. Four coins are still out in the area.
"
Now let’s compare some dates and values, for example, did you know the 1924-D cent, is worth over $30 and the 1922-D cent without the “D” is worth more than $200? Why? You are asking yourself. The Denver Mint filled in the “D” by accident and with this mess up comes value.

Coin collecting comes with some truly unique stories; let’s look at the 1937 Denver Mint Buffalo Nickel with the three legs and a value of $400 or more. Think about this for a moment, why so much? Buffalo have four legs. I would like to know how they missed that one.

The 1916-Denver Mint Mercury Dime is worth over $500. The reason for the value is, that was the first year for this dime and a low mintage. The same thing happened with the 1932-Denver Mint Washington Quarter with a value of over $100.

A penny for your thoughts could be worth a lot more. So, please check and see if you are spending more than you should at the stores! You may have enough to pay for that Barry Manalow concert in Las Vegas.

C&C Coins and Collectibles was established in Downtown Longmont in October of 1996, located at 381 Main Street. It was opened by Mark J. Chamberlain and a business partner.
Ten and half years later, with a new partner, Keith Farley, it is stronger than ever filling the needs of the local and area collectors.

Dealing in coins, currency, gold, silver, and historical collectibles, the store has grown in its inventory which has adopted firearms and has become a major dealer for the Front Range.

The downtown location has been rewarding and full of great historical value which adds to the collectibles we deal in and we look forward to another ten years in business.

Mark along with his wife, Rose have enjoyed raising their two children the Longmont area and being involved with the community.
