From The Cover

In our cover story, we learn about the Dancing Horses group that participates in parades in Longmont and the surrounding area. Many of the groups horses live at 3Ms Ranch in Platteville, just outside of Longmont. The talented photographer John Robson visited and captured a sampling of charrería culture.

“There was an air of heritage, style, and pride that the charros brought to this photoshoot—an unspoken elegance in the way they carried themselves, a quiet confidence rooted in tradition,” Robson says.

We couldn’t fit all the photographs in this issue, so we made an online album for readers to check out.

LONGMONT

Riding Into the Community

The Morales family and the 3 Margaritas cavalcade have participated in many town parades over the years, but they have developed a fondness and a closeness for Longmont. Their ranch is about a 15-minute drive east of town, and some of the Morales children attended Longmont area schools.

“The people of Longmont have really accepted us,” Nicolas says. “We don’t feel any discrimination. Everyone is very welcoming.”

Just as Longmont has welcomed the Morales family, they, in turn, have brought something special to the community—sharing their culture, traditions, and passion with the town.
